Fernando MARROQUÍN BARRERA

Fernando has over 25 years of experience in the ICT sector, developing simultaneously coordination skills of functional equipment, work management by objectives and strategic projects. Therefore, he holds a strong balance between business savvy and technical capabilities: business process re-engineering (BPR) projects to improve corporate performance, profitability, and efficiency for his clients.

He has been (i) Director of Information Technology at the Ministry of Finance and Administration of the State Government of Durango (2003) leading IT operations in the dependence, (ii) CIO in the city of Gomez Palacio, Durango, where he introduced innovation in tax collection, health services and public affairs, (iii) National coordinator of municipalities in the IT Committee of the state and municipal public administration (CIAPEM), and (iv)CIO at the police department in the city of Torreón, Coah., (2010), with one of the main responsibilities being the coordination of all the different proyects in all the operational areas.

Fernando was also appointed as (i) Chairman at the board of Directorat Meccano de Mexico, planning and designing the structure of the IT for the MECCANO Group. IT coordinator in the company “PC & B”, leading the efforts in ICT field for the continued operation of all devices in a national security center; management of large data centers and information security, and (ii) Continental Project Manager at Honeywell, coordination Merge & Acquisitions TELECOM refresh projects. Sr Project Manager in financial sector leading business core projects migrations to the cloud.

In parallel to his activities as a IT expert for different Mexican and foreign companies, Fernando is an Associate Partner of Axperia Ventures in our offices in Monterrey (Mexico).

Fernando received a B.Sc. in Software Engineering from the “Universidad Iberoamericana” (Mexico), an M.Sc in Information Technology from “Instituto 18 de Marzo” (Mexico), and in Project Management from ITESN¿M and NETEC (Mexico) .
