Arun KUMAR
(B.Eng., M.B.A)Arun has over 25 years of experience in India and Europe, with proven success in driving business development, creating JVs and enabling project financing worth multi-billion USD in an international environment. He has extensive expertise in planning and executing strategies for expansion, financial management and risk control, with skills in strengthening professional networks, establishing strategic alliances and conducting negotiations. Experienced, as well, in providing collaborative leadership to cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders and regulatory matters.
Arun is a Partner of Axperia Ventures in New Delhi (India) office.
Previously, Arun was managing SunPower Corporation USA business in India and was responsible for direct business development, finance, administrative, profitability and risk management operations. He has successfully created references for high efficiency solar system with SunPower Maxeon® technology in utility scale and roof top applications.
Arun has also worked for TOTAL S.A for more than 15 years in various positions leading development of 110MW concentrated solar power plant in Abu Dhabi (Shams1) in collaboration with Masdar and Abengoa. He has also worked on development of large solar photovoltaic plant, combined cycle power plants and liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving terminals involving structuring of transactions and financing.
Prior to Total S.A, he has worked for NTPC and other large USA based multinational corporations for 10 years and has extensive experience in power sector including operation and maintenance of large power stations.
Arun received Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani and MBA in finance from university of Delhi. He also hold certification in petroleum management from Indian School of Petroleum.
Arun with his team is managing certain key projects to involving internationalization of various Spanish companies to enter in to Indian Market. These companies are from cleantech, environment sector, water sector and electric mobility, speciality chemicals, healthcare space which involves companies like GV Soluciones, VMS Automotive, and Kemegal among others.
Arun is also actively involved in mentorship of start-ups and also member of Keiretsu Forum to screen for start-ups with potential for investment in pre-series A round and support selected companies in getting access to markets in Spain and Europe.
